Australia has a populous of 24,303,330 people according to the 2016 census. Most of those people live on the east coast in the major cities. There are very few churches for this quickly growing populous. We believe the Lord wants us in the city of Parramatta, NSW, AU, which is one of Australia's up and coming major cities.
Parramatta is the the original settlement of the Australian continent. When settlers landed in Australia and attempted to colonize the area around Port Jackson, they found the earth to be too harsh for crops and moved inland to Parramatta where they were able to flourish. This is why many consider Parramatta to be the oldest city in Australia rather than Sydney.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
– Matthew 28:19-20
Australia is a country full of immigrants. Whether first, second, or third generation, most of them have never heard a clear presentation of the gospel! Natural born Aussies and immigrants alike need to hear that they are sinners in need of a Savior.
Jesus doesn’t save you to set you aside. Every Christian should always be growing. My Pastor often says, “The Christian must always be advancing.” Christ also commanded us to teach them to observe. This means to teach them to win others. The best people to reach Aussies are other Aussies!
Acts 1:8b says, “Ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” This means we should be reaching our local city, our area, our country, and the whole world simultaneously. Teaching Aussies to reach Aussies is just the first step.
